About Coram DEO Theology

About the founder of CDT

I suppose I should introduce myself and explain a little regarding Coram DEO Theology. I am D. Gordon, and I hold multiple post-grad degrees, including a doctorate in theology. I have a master’s in theology and apologetics and a master’s in divinity, commonly known as the MDiv. I have written academic papers that have been published and many that have not been published (welcome to the world of academia). However, I have started writing my first book. So, please keep a look out and wish me luck!

How Coram Deo Theology came to be, a work in progress!

This site started as a doctoral side project which included investigating unification. I had these grandiose ideas that unifying people and bringing peace on earth was an actual possibility…one day; that I hopefully will be able to witness in my lifetime.

When I was around 8 or 9 years old, there was a Ziggy comic in the Sunday paper that gravitated to me. It wasn’t a humorous comic; it was someone asking Ziggy what he wished for upon a star. Ziggy replied with just a simple “Peace on Earth.” I bet I kept that cut out of the comic for twenty-plus years, taped to the fridge. No matter where I moved Ziggy came with me. Later on, in 6th or 7th grade, I dabbled in some poetry, and looking back on many scribbles, were many stanzas that talked about unity and peace on earth. This pattern of thought has always been a significant topic that I pondered.

When I had a opportunity to delve into some serious thought regarding unity and peace during my doctoral years, I jumped on the time that was allotted. My research led me to some very disappointing conclusions; however, I did end up with a better understanding of unity and peace. With this better understanding, I could articulate exactly what needed to be accomplished and who needed to accomplish the task. It is rather simplified, and the answer is you.

Only you can contribute to unity and peace within. It is operational in the same manner as good works. It will naturally occur with faith.

Throughout the blog, I will address the disappointing conclusions I reached through my research, as well as how good works function and how you and I can do our part in God’s mandate while contributing to unity and peace.

As a member of this world, I am sure you realize that life on this planet is a bit crazy right now. I don’t know if you would say we are moving backward, sideways, or heading south. As my grandmother used to say, “This world is going to hell in a handbasket.” I do not know the origins of that statement, but it has been around since the early 1800s. Either way, no matter what direction, I am sure we could all agree that life could be better.

Travel with me on this journey of Coram DEO Theology, and let us see if we can make this world just a little bit brighter, a little more peaceful, and a little more unified!

Thank you for visiting this site and taking the time to read this little intro.

Blessings to all,

Dr. D. Gordon
